CPT Todd Christmas was not only one of the best officers I had the opportunity to serve with, he was also one of the best friends I have ever had. I went to war with this guy, and I would do it again, in a heartbeat. I met him only weeks before we deployed to Iraq, and I knew absolutely no one in the unit. I was the green new LT in the Battalion (at Fort Hood, Texas) and he so graciously took me under his wing and showed me the ropes and helped me to learn what it means to be a leader. Although we were practically the same age, I looked up to him like a brother, and laughed with him like a friend. We had some rough times together, and we had some wonderful times together. His family and his wife, Erica, will forever be a part of my family. My wife and I are still very, very close with Erica, and we speak with the Christmas family often. Although Todd was only a part of my life for 16 months, he will have a lasting effect on the remainder of my life. I am a Texas Tech Red Raider through and through, but I will forever hold a special place for the Aggies in my heart, and that is because of CPT Todd T. Christmas. We miss you Todd, and Ill see you on the other end.
